摘要: Problem statement: The use of aerobic biological methods for the treatment livestock wastes has resulted in a proliferation mechanical aeration devices to accomplish desired treatment. oxidation ditch system with disc aerators is among systems that have been used treat waste. main objectives this study were investigate effects various design parameters and operational on oxygen transfer coefficient physical phenomenon using high speed movie techniques. Approach: A bench-scale aerator was conduct series experiments determine immersion depth (2.5-7.5 cm), (50-250 rpm), thickness (0.32-2.55 hole diameter (0.00-1.92 cm) number rotating discs (1-2) coefficient. unsteady state method sodium sulfite deoxygenate water dissolved concentration measured time. Results: had most significant effect KLa both showing strong less effect. adding second comparable single double at lower speeds while higher than 200 rpm doubling disc. Conclusion: highest (1.526 min-1) achieved two coaxial 250 rpm, 0.64 cm, 1.92 cm an 7.5 cm. Bubble eddy prevalent mechanisms surface played relatively small role transfer.
