摘要: High mean left atrial pressure (MLAP) due to canine degenerative mitral valve disease is associated with clinically relevant morbidity and mortality. The ability noninvasively measure MLAP would assist in the diagnosis treatment of disease. Doppler echocardiography allows measurement early transmitral blood flow (E) velocity annulus (Ea). ratio inflow annular (E: Ea) correlates well human subjects. We sought determine E: Ea predict dogs experimentally induced regurgitation. Nine anesthetized purpose-bred underwent placement a Swan-Ganz catheter into atrium recording MLAP. Simultaneous transthoracic echocardiographic hemodynamic studies were performed after acute chordae tendineae rupture during IV infusion nitroprusside (2.5-5.0 microg x kg(-1) min(-1)) or hydralazine (1-1.5 mg/kg). Mitral regurgitant fraction, measured by single-plane angiography thermodilution, ranged from 17% 81%. increased 5.4 +/- 2.5 mm Hg 17.4 9.4 creation regurgitation (MR; P = .018). Forty sets measurements obtained 7 dogs, E, as Ea, linearly related R2 value for linear regression equation containing dependent variable (0.83) was greater than that E (0.73). 95% confidence intervals calculated predicting 20 E:Ea, E:Ea >9.1 <20 Hg, respectively. Echocardiography can be used isoflurane-anesthetized insufficiency.
