摘要: Piperaquine combined with dihydroartemisinin is one of the artemisinin derivative combination therapies, which can replace artesunate-mefloquine in treating uncomplicated falciparum malaria Thailand. The aim this study was to determine vitro sensitivity Thai Plasmodium isolates against piperaquine and influence pfmdr1 gene on response. One hundred thirty-seven standard laboratory adapted P. were assessed for sensitivity. Polymorphisms determined by polymerase chain reaction methods. mean deviation IC50 16.7 ± 6.3 nM. parasites exhibiting chloroquine ≥ 100 nM significantly less sensitive compared parasite < No significant association between copy number values found. In contrast, containing 86Y allele exhibited reduced Before nationwide implementation dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine as first-line treatment Thailand, vivo evaluations should be performed especially areas where are predominant such Thai-Malaysian border.
