摘要: An immunodiffusion (ID) test has been developed to diagnose infections caused byPenicillium marneffei. A 20 X concentrated culture-filtrate of six-week-old shake cultures (25 C) ofP. marneffei was employed as an antigen. This preparation found be better in quality than that from still the same age (30 C). Anti-P. rabbit sera were produced by injecting rabbits with increasing dosages inoculum for at least six weeks. These demonstrated two three precipitin lines following their reaction antigens 24–48 h 25 C. TheP. antigenic preparations did not react antisera five species ofAspergillus, which commonly cause aspergillosis, or four dimorphic systemic fungi. Similarly, these other fungi against anti-P. serum. However, antibody titres (1∶32 1∶64) histoplasmin, blastomycin and coccidioidin complement fixation test. Cross-reactions observed any human suspected proven cases opportunistic mycotic infections. Therefore, ID penicillosis is considered highly specific. Exoantigen studies that, a total 34 isolates ten ofPenicillium tested, only extracts (6 isolates) one isolate (PLM 771) aP. reacted positively serum, giving identity reference reagents. Based on this analysis, theP. identified P. The exoantigen specific rapid method identification confirmation isolates.
