摘要: This paper explores aspects of highway safety with a focus on crashes involving older drivers. As the "baby boomers" age and move into retirement, larger proportion drivers will be using nation's roads. The analysis here develops estimates econometric models panel dataset that includes each county in California spans an 18-year period, 1981-1998. are estimated feasible generalized least squares techniques account for cross-section heterogeneity, adjust county-specific first-order serial correlation, correct nonconstant variances due to large differences sizes across state. results indicate set explanatory variables is not identical younger Among factors have effects driver risk exposure, energy alcohol prices, availability, increased speed limits higher
