摘要: This article explores the narrative accounts of eight South African high-school teachers working in a gang-violent community Western Cape. In April 2002, interviews were conducted with and transcripts analysed using life-story approach. The analysis revealed that primary stress being experienced by is related to wider social political contexts gang violence Africa. addition, two types life stories identified. reintegration, memories traumatic events had been transformed into meaningful experiences could be integrated course teachers’ life. paralysed stories, episodes remained series random events. also focused on effects these coping, as well sense coherence support. aim this call attention importance understanding laying groundwork for an intervention enhance positive coping skills prevent post-traumatic disorder.
