摘要: Abstract The acid-catalyzed dehydration of d -xylose to furfural has been investigated in a biphasic water–toluene system, using mesoporous Nb 2 O 5 catalyst prepared by neutral templating route. catalytic behavior was compared with commercial . Materials were characterized XRD, XPS, TEM, NH 3 -TPD, Raman spectroscopy and N sorption. conversion yield over the niobia found increase reaction temperature time, such way that at 170 °C 90 min, higher than 90% 50%, respectively. However, crystalline displayed low activity. stability demonstrated XRD sorption, corroborated absence significant niobium leaching solution.
