摘要: A study was made of factors limiting the sheep's intake a wheaten hay diet having an organic matter digestibility approximately 57% and containing 4.4% crude protein mineral supplement. Voluntary consumption chopped increased by 8–13% when infused per abomasum, or content raised to 7 15% addition wheat gluten. similar change in voluntary feed (VFC) observed one two experiments which urea abomasum. The VFC response infusion abomasum persisted for at least 2 weeks after terminated. + gluten (85/15) did not additional micronutrients were provided. When ground pelleted, declined; digestible energy showed little change. pelleted accompanied substantial rises intake, fibre quantity transferred through alimentary tract. provision grinding pelleting 189% that attained offered. lower than lucerne diets either forms; these had digestibilities contents. results considered support conclusion primary factor deficiency nitrogen, this been remedied, next resistance removal from rumen. mechanisms whereby various limit are discussed, it is suggested likely be unreliable predicting non-pregnant, non-lactating ruminants.
