摘要: In this paper, we present a simple one tensor mean eld model of biaxial nematic liquid crystals. The salient feature our approach is that ma- terial parameters appear explicitly in the order parameter tensor. We construct free energy from potential based on anisotropic dispersion in- teractions, identify and its elements, obtain self-consistent equations, which are then solved numerically. results illustrated 3D ternary phase diagram. behavior can be sim- ply related to molecular parameters. may useful for designing molecules show thermotropic phase.
