摘要: Helicases are fundamental components of all replication complexes since unwinding the double-stranded template to generate single-stranded DNA is essential direct synthesis by polymerases. However, helicases also required in many other steps replication. Replicative not only unwind but play key roles regulating priming and coordination leading lagging strand Accessory aid replicative strands presence proteins bound DNA, minimising risks posed nucleoprotein continued fork movement. critical Okazaki fragment processing eukaryotes may be needed minimise topological problems when forks converge. Thus movement, synthesis, maturation termination depend on helicases. Moreover, if disaster strikes a breaks down then reloading machinery effected helicases, at least bacteria. This chapter describes how function these multiple coordinated with catalytic processes ensure efficient, high fidelity duplication genetic material organisms.
