Impact of Traffic Incidents on Reliability of Freeway Travel Times

摘要: Travel time reliability is a key measure of freeway system’s performance. Traffic incidents are one the more important factors affecting travel because they reduce capacity segment and generate temporary bottleneck. In this study an empirical analysis was conducted with use 4 years incident data collected on Interstate 5 405 in Seattle, Washington, metropolitan area.
