摘要: Caroline James RGN, RSCN, Case Manager, Children’s Continuing Care, East Leeds Primary Care Trust In recent years there has been an increasing emphasis on long term care in the community and primary settings (see for example Kirk 1999). Advances technology have enhanced life expectancy enable children with complex health needs to be cared at home. If we expect home, should expectation from family/carers that will adequate support services available. Such come a variety of sources including: children’s nursing (CCN) teams, paediatric outreach respite units, local authority services, hospices, visitors, private providers through continuing funding, as well medical acute trusts care. Respite are essential packages these integral part maintaining family wellbeing (Olsen MaslinProthero 2001).
