摘要: Delirium is a frequent outcome for aged and demented patients that suffer systemic inflammatory insult. Animal models reconstruct these etiological processes have potential to provide better understanding of the pathophysiology delirium. Therefore, we systematically reviewed animal studies in which inflammation was superimposed on or diseased models. In total, 77 were identified. Aged animals challenged with bacterial endotoxin 29 studies, 25 surgery animals, 6 infection, Escherichia coli (E. coli), used. Diseased 15 two examined effects cytokine IL-1β, one study used polyinosinic:polycytidilic acid (poly I:C). This systematic review analyzed impact production neurotoxic mediators peripheral blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), central nervous system (CNS). Moreover, concomitant behavioral cognitive symptoms also evaluated. Finally, outcomes tests from compared features present delirious patients.
