摘要: Environmental niche modelling is an acclaimed method for estimating species’ present or future distributions. However, in marine environments the assembly of representative data from reliable and unbiased occurrences challenging. Here, we aimed to model environmental distribution marine, parasitic nematodes Pseudoterranova decipiens complex using software Maxent. The these potentially zoonotic species interest, because they infect muscle tissue host targeted by fisheries. To achieve best possible model, used two different approaches. land distance (LD) was based on abiotic data, whereas definitive (DHD) included species-specific biotic data. assess whether DHD a suitable descriptor spp., niches parasites their respective hosts were analysed ecospat. performance LD compared variables’ contribution model. DHD-model clearly outperformed LD-model. While LD-model gave estimate parasites’ niches, it only showed potential distribution. produced realised indicated that variables can help improve data-poor, species.
