摘要: Total-energy band calculations that show the coexistence of a high-spin and low-spin state in fcc transition metals alloys are presented. The energy difference between two states is shown to be function electron concentration vanish at 8.6. At larger concentrations low-temperature state, thermal expansion pause system-dependent characteristic temperature. lower enhanced expected. An analysis leads qualitative understanding properties Invar implies connection with martensitic transformations spin glasses related For magnetic collapse from pressure 55 kbar predicted.
