摘要: SUMMARY. 1 In the remarkably unvarying climate of Hog Harbour, Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides (15o 15'S. in Pacific), fruit-bat Pteropus geddiei usually copulates about February to March and gives birth young August September. One is produced at each birth. 2 A review literature reveals that fruit-bats both northern southern hemispheres tend copulate ‘autumn’, constancy does not prevent them from keeping this rule. 3 The size testes increases gradually till January, after which it falls away a little less than half January weight July. 4 The males keep their epididymides full sperms throughout year. 5 The social habits sexes vary seasonally. 6 The food varies different times year, as various fruits flowers become available; but certain are available eaten all times. 7 It appears temperature control onset copulating season. Possibly decrease length day amount ultra-violet light important. 8 Pterojms eotinus, was studied intensively Pt. geddiei, has same breeding
