摘要: Multidimensional forest health initiatives2014those designed to restore and protect integrity in the large sense2014require, among other things, a better understanding of relationship between structure forests (1) their susceptibility wildfires outside range natural variability (2) level treatment (if any) required lower into an acceptable range. Within ponderosa pine zone (Pinus Dougl. ex Laws.) on eastern slopes Oregon's Cascade Range, average 86% trees >5 cm diameter at breast height (dbh) were less than 101 years old, density young correlating negatively with old (>150 yrs). Species composition differed significantly age classes: 72% older 150 pine, whereas 83% younger either grand fir (Abies grandis [Dougl.] Lindl.) or lodgepole contorta ex). Loud Crown bulk calculated reflect multiple canopy layer these stands (CBDm) averaged 0.049 kg/m3, compared 0.093 kg/m3 using standard approach ( p
