A Conceptual Model of Psychosomatic Illness in Children: Family Organization and Family Therapy

摘要: Linear and open systems (multiple feedback) models of psychosomatic illness in children are contrasted terms their implications for cause treatment. An family model is presented that describes three necessary (but not independently sufficient) conditions the development maintenance severe problems children: (1) a certain type organization encourages somatization; (2) involvement child parental conflict; (3) physiological vulnerability. Predisposition illness, symptom choice, discussed within this conceptual framework. We report on therapy strategies based results treatment with 48 cases "brittle" diabetes, asthma, anorexia nervosa.
