摘要: One of the key factors contributing to success a quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping experiment is precision with which QTL positions can be estimated. We show, using simulations, that for an experimental cross increased by use genotypically selected sample individuals rather than unselected same size. Selection performed previously described method optimizes complementarity crossover sites within sample. Although increase in accompanied decrease detection power at markers distant from QTL, only modest marker density needed obtain equivalent over whole map. Selected samples also show slight reduction number false-positive QTL. find two features independently contribute these effects: and evenness spacing. provide empirical formula enrichment useful design data analysis. For studies phenotyping more limiting factor generation scoring genotypes, selective sampling attractive strategy increasing genome-wide map resolution.
