摘要: This thesis examines the production of UK children’s public service broadcasting in 21st century through extended case study one significant facility: BBC Scotland Children’s Department. Starting from hypothesis that Department offers a unique inflection its remit being an alternative producer to main facility London, it argues various contexts and settings impact on texts, practices discourses articulate distinctive approach befitting Department’s status as ‘centre excellence’. Based research at 2007 2011, explores number problematic concepts associated with contemporary for children, including perceived value UK-originated content; occupational values producers specialists; construction representation audience; specificity television form achieving children.
