Intravitreal triamcinolone versus laser photocoagulation as a primary treatment for diabetic macular oedema - a comparative pilot study

摘要: Background Diabetic macular oedema is the leading causes of blindness. Laser photocoagulation reduces risk visual loss. However recurrences are common and despite laser treatment, patients with diabetic experienced progressive loss vision. Stabilization blood retinal barrier introduces a rationale for intravitreal triamcinolone treatment in oedema. This study intended to compare best corrected acuity (BCVA) index (MEI) at 3 month primary between acetonide (IVTA) photocoagulation.
