摘要: In the present study, dose measurements have been conducted following examination of maxilla and mandible with spiral computed tomography (CT). The were carried out 2 phantoms, a head neck phantom full body phantom. analysis applied thermoluminescent dosimeters yielded radiation doses for organs tissues in region between 0.6 16.7 mGy when 40 axial slices 120 kV/165 mAs used as exposure parameters. effective was calculated 0.58 0.48 mSv mandible, respectively. Tested methods reduction showed significant decrease from to 65%. Based on these results, mortality risk estimated according calculation models recommended by Committee Biological Effects Ionizing Radiations International Commission Radiological Protection. Both resulted similar values. ranges 46.2 x 10.6 20-year-old men 11.2 10(-6) 65-year-old women. Using reduction, decreased approximately 50 60% 19.1 5.5 It can be concluded that CT scan maxillofacial complex causes considerable compared conventional radiographic examinations. Therefore, careful indication this imaging technique should considered daily practice.
