摘要: Aims:  Aim of this study is to characterize clinical isolates Salmonella Typhimurium that occurred in Portuguese children on the basis their virulence and antimicrobial resistance profiles pulsed-field gel electrophoresis typing analyse possible strain relatedness. Methods Results:  Different serotypes were isolated from cases salmonellosis had two hospitals (a total 259 isolates). All Salm. Typhimurium strains, with age patients known, (total 26 isolates) selected for study. These characterized gene (agfA, iroB, slyA, hin/H2, spv), investigated occurrence multidrug-resistant DT 104 by PCR. showed high rates four or more antibiotics, 100% sulfadiazine a percentage strains profile Salm. 104, them phage type (determined PCR). A relationship between some clusters was detected, each cluster having same profile. Conclusions:  This high-antibiotic investigated, presence DT104 infections children. Significance Impact Study:  Study based regarding increase antibiotic circulating Portugal.
