摘要: SUMMARY Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) or human 8 (HHV-8) is present in all clinical variants of sarcoma and two lymphoproliferative diseases: primary effusion lymphoma multicentric Castleman’s disease (MCD). Seroepidemiological studies have proved the link between KSHV/HHV-8 infection development sarcoma. The virus encodes a number genes homologous to involved cell proliferation, anti-apoptosis, angiogenesis cytokine action. In lymphoma, however, most tumour cells only show evidence latent infection, with restricted gene expression pattern including latency associated nuclear antigen 1, able interact p53 retinoblastoma gene. small expressing lytic may, be important for growth by paracrine mechanisms, as has been shown viral G-proteincoupled receptor. Understanding these molecular mechanisms would provide rationale new treatments prevention KSHV/HHV-8-associated diseases.
