摘要: Seismic tomography and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) were combined to determine weakness zones the degree of alteration in rock making up Moai statues Easter Island. The surveys carried out on stratified argillaceous tuff that had been subjected weathering for long periods. nature unsaturated condition creates ambiguity both seismic georadar data interpretation, but this is removed by using a interpretation data. Interpretation shows high velocities inner must be related water content not better quality, because attenuation signal those zones. weathered zone characterized signal-to-noise ratio low P-wave velocities. Comparing GPR sets, we found velocity section differ two accordance with rock. We show allows removal ambiguities massive tuff, definition thickness layer linking preservation, which useful classification health. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
