摘要: Abstract Rapid and non-invasive measurement of hydration status is medically important because even mild levels dehydration can have a significant impact on physical cognitive performance. Despite the potential value determining whole-body based electrolytes found in tears, very few tests are available. An area intense interest development contact lens which could measure ion concentrations specifically that sodium (Na+) chloride (Cl-) ions, dominant blood plasma tears. Here, we describe method to make fluorescent lenses allow determination Na+ Cl- Fluorophores known be sensitive were derivatized bind non-covalently two commercially-available silicone hydrogel (SiHG) lenses—the Biofinity (Comfilcon A) or MyDay (Stenfilcon lenses. The sodium- chloride-sensitive fluorophores displayed spectral changes physiological range for ions both completely reversible. responses not protein interference including human lysozyme, serum albumin mucin type 2. sensitivity was similar with lenses, but sodium-sensitive different We also fabricated probes single resulting independently measured without separation fluorophores. Our findings indicated (NaCl-lens) used rapid detection hydration, as well associated diseases other infections.
