摘要: Purpose Flexor pollicis longus (FPL) tendon rupture is a well-documented complication related to the use of distal radius volar locking plates (VLPs). The final common pathway flexor appears involve implants prominent at watershed line. We hypothesized that significant differences in VLP prominence exist between various plate designs. Methods Ten fresh frozen specimens were dissected identify path FPL relationship Five designs fixed each specimen based on their anatomic fit, and slid distally until edge reached position was evaluated by fluoroscopy. used 3-dimensional laser scanner create computer models. total surface area line beneath measured axial plane using software.
