摘要: We have characterised an unusual, highly polymorphic region of DNA located 8-kb downstream the human alpha-globin gene complex. This hypervariable (alpha-globin 3' HVR) is composed array 17-bp tandem repeats, number which differs considerably (70-450) from one allele to another. The sequence repeats conserved within and between alleles. Furthermore, this identifies a core oligonucleotide [5'-GNGGGG(N)ACAG-3'] that common three previously regions. At reduced stringency, probe HVR detects new family multiallelic loci will be value in study genetics.
