摘要: Within the Landau-de Gennes phenomenological theory, we study influence of an applied electric field with average strength E{a} on position a nematic line defect topological charge M=+/-1/2 in hybrid cell. We explore biaxial structure core and describe its expulsion from cell upon increasing E{a}. show that prior to displays dramatic changes for strong enough surface anchorings. At critical value E{a}, broadens merges into layer large biaxiality. This transition corresponds reconstruction order already observed bulk response field. A similar could take place even absence defects, but at higher threshold.
