摘要: Over the last two decades field of metallosupramolecular self-assembly has emerged as a promising research area for development intricate, three-dimensional structures increasing complexity and functionality. The advent this strongly benefited from design principles that considered ligand geometry metal coordination geometry, thus opening up routes towards rationally designed classical (Archimedean or Platonic) architectures. In tutorial review, we will focus on more recent developments in synthesis suprastructures which have non-classical architectures (non-Archimedean/Platonic solids) explicitly address secondary effects responsible their formation. Three classes assemblies be discussed: formed through combination single metal, heteroleptic heterometallic structures. It is hoped our exposition may suggest how different employed these three might combined to create even greater potential function.
