摘要: Abstract Different mixed organic–inorganic gels as precursors for the synthesis of titanium carbide and oxycarbides have been prepared in aqueous organic solutions starting either from rutile or alkoxide. The sol–gel processes controlled by complexing additives such H 2 O , acetic acid ethyl aceto-acetate. Upon pyrolysis up to ∼600°C, composites finely divided particles amorphous titania carbon are formed. Monitoring high-temperature treatment TG, XRD nitrogen adsorption 1600°C revealed a three-step carbothermal reduction mechanism through lower oxides oxycarbides. intimate mixture leads considerable lowering onset reaction temperature comparison with rutile/carbon black rutile/gel mixtures. Delayed reactions final steps, however, may be due interruption contact reactants pore generation. During high microporous mesoporous intermediate materials prepared; products at oxygen contents 1·2–3·4 wt% grain sizes than 1 μ m .
