Effects of a self-care program on quality of life of cirrhotic patients referring to Tehran Hepatitis Center

摘要: Chronic liver disease especially cirrhosis is one of the medical problems that substantially reduces quality life its victims. Because chronic and irreversible nature disease, it needs self-care programs to be developed according client's maintain their independence sense well-being. The purpose this study was determine effects a educational program on Quality Life (QoL) sample Iranian cirrhotic patients. A quasi-experimental conducted 44 patients in Tehran Hepatitis Center. Longitudinal case registry random allocation technique were used divide into experimental (n = 21) control 23) groups. questionnaire (CLDQ) for measuring life. group given assess needs. followed 3 months. Then both groups compared using descriptive analytical statistics. same concerning effective factors life, such as age, sex, etc (P > 0.05). There no significant difference between QOL mean score before intervention, however QoL significantly improved after intervention (P= 0.001), while decreased group. result present confirmed positive self care Extensive along with long-term follow up are suggested.
