System and method for address resolution in internet protocol (IP)-based networks

摘要: A system and unified method of address resolution in an IP-based network. Resolver determines whether input is a URL/URI, if so, extracts domain name. If the E.164 number, converts number into name ENUM format. The then sends query to DNS which, able, returns IP for either Global MGCF or destination server along with supported Application protocol. unable perform translation, protocol returned not by requesting application, extended Location Server (LS) obtain gateway function capable interfacing server.
