摘要: Objective: To undertake a systematic review and meta-analysis on the risk of repeat offending in individualswith psychosis to assess effect potentialmoderating characteristics estimates. Methods:A search was conducted 6 bibliographicdatabases from January 1966 2009, supple-mented with correspondence authors. Studies thatreported risks individuals withpsychotic disorders (n 5 3511) compared other psychiatric 5446) healthyindividuals 71 552) were included. Risks repeatoffending calculated using fixed- random-effectsmodels calculate pooled odds ratios (ORs). Subgroupand meta-regression analyses examinehow estimates affected by various study charac-teristics including mean sample age, study location, samplesize,studyperiod,outcomemeasure,durationoffollow-up,and diagnostic criteria. Results: Twenty-seven studies, which included 3511 psychosis, iden-tified. Compared without any psychiatricdisorders, there significantly increased (pooled OR 1.6,95% confidence interval [CI] 1.4–1.8), although this wasonly based 4 studies. In contrast, no associ-ation when disorderswere used as comparison group 1.0,95% CI 0.7–1.3), substantial hetero-geneity. Higher found female-onlysamples studies theUnited States. Conclusions: The association between psy-chosis differed depending com-parison group. Despite this, we support for thefindings previous reviews that is associatedwith lower offending.Key words: schizophrenia/psychotic disorders/crime/violence/review/meta-analysisIntroductionWith around 10 million prisoners worldwide,
