摘要: Landsat Thematic Mapper images from 1990 to 1996 and collateral data sources were used classify the land cover of Mermentau River Basin (MRB) within Chenier Plain coastal Louisiana. Landcover classes followed definition National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration's Coastal Change Analysis Program; however, classification methods had be developed as part this study for attainment these national standards. Classification method developments especially important when spectrally inseparable, spatial spectral continuums, resolution sensor included more than one landcover type, human activities caused abnormal transitions in landscape. Most problems overcome by using or a combination techniques, such separating MRB into subregions commonality, applying masks specific mixtures, highlighting class between years that highly unlikely. Overall, 1990, 1993, accuracy percentages (associated kappa statistics) 80% (0.79), 78% (0.76), 86% (0.84), respectively. errors associated with confusion managed (cultivated land) unmanaged grassland classes; scrub shrub, grasslands forest water, unconsolidated shore bare water floating vegetation classes. Combining cultivated single accuracies increased 82%, 83%, 90%, To improve interpretation change, three indicators stability formulated. Location was defined percentage remained same location at beginning end monitoring period. Residence percent change each entire during Turnover addition other target These allowed quick assessment dynamic nature classes, both reference retaining their presence throughout MRB. Examining changes 1993 1996, led us five principal findings: (1) turnover is maintaining near stable logging cycle, although locations grassland, areas involved cycle appeared change. (2) Planting seedlings critical stability. (3) Logging tend replace woody mixed forests evergreen forests. (4) Wetland estuarine marshes are expanding slightly. (5) palustrine mature forested wetlands relatively stable.
