Laser generation of iron-doped silver nanotruffles with magnetic and plasmonic properties

摘要: A frontier topic in nanotechnology is the realization of multifunctional nanoparticles (NPs) via appropriate combination different elements periodic table. The coexistence Fe and Ag same nanostructure, for instance, interesting nanophotonics, nanomedicine, catalysis. However, alloying inhibited thermodynamic reasons. Here, we describe synthesis Fe-doped NPs laser ablation liquid solution, bypassing thermodynamics constraints. These have an innovative structure consisting a scaffold face-centered cubic metal alternating with disordered Ag–Fe alloy domains, all arranged truffle-like morphology. Fe–Ag exhibit plasmonic properties magnetic response Fe-containing phases, surface can be functionalized one step thiolated molecules. Taking advantage multiple NPs, magnetophoretic amplification demonstrated proof-of-concept surface-enhanced Raman scattering photothermal heating experiments. synthetic approach general applicability virtually permits preparation large variety multi-element step.
