摘要: The scavenging effect of precipitated austenite in a low carbon, commercial Fe-5.5Ni cryogenic alloy was investigated through observation the dissolution cementite precipitates during intercritical tempering and study associated change Charpy impact toughness. Cementite initially located along prior grain boundaries were gradually dissolved into reverted as proceeded. tends to form at or around carbide particles may be catalyzed by their presence. energy is changed both decrease ductile-brittle transition temperature an increase upper shelf energy. latter specifically with carbides which act preferential void nucleation sites untempered alloy.
