摘要: When deciding whether to treat a patient with hypertension, clinicians must balance the benefit of treatment against its adverse effects. In absence an interaction, multiplicative model risk implies that absolute is related underlying outcome. Thus, each additional factor multiplies treating hypertension. Analyses data from subgroups in clinical trials hypertension suggest this usually valid. contrast, effects are unrelated other factors. cutoff point for differs different individuals: setting single threshold and goal entire population not appropriate. Patients who at high because prior coronary artery disease or factors have greater potential benefit, such patients deserve low goal, as diastolic blood pressure 90 mm Hg. Conversely, persons risk, white women without factors, do require aggressive management.
