摘要: The adverse effects of engineered nanomaterials (ENM) in marine environments have recently attracted great attention although their on benthic organisms such as foraminifera are still largely overlooked. Here we document the three negatively charged ENM, different size and composition, titanium dioxide (TiO2), polystyrene (PS) silicon (SiO2), a microbial eukaryote (the Ammonia parkinsoniana) using multiple approaches. This research clearly shows presence, within foraminiferal cytoplasm, metallic (Ti) organic ENM that promote physiological stress. Specifically, marked increases accumulation neutral lipids enhanced reactive oxygen species production occurred ENM-treated specimens regardless type. study indicates represent ecotoxicological risks for this presents new model neglected benthos by which to assess natural exposure scenarios.
