摘要: This Chapter takes a deep dive into understandings of solar geoengineering (SGE) today, in an effort to understand attempts stabilise and normalise it as concept. The focus is on three things: epistemological knowledge choices, questions values ontological ordering, the relationship SGE power powerful. In particular, critical eye cast elevation ‘techno-scientific’ institutional assessments SGE, invocation ‘emergency’, cost-benefit thinking, narrowing ethical debates, implications for capitalism geo-political ordering. each case analysis shows how contradictory forces imperatives cohabit, ways which restrain SGE’s normalisation.
