摘要: The onset of Phaseolus vulgaris L. cotyledon senescence and its characteristics were modulated by irradiance (higher or lower than standard) epicotyl decapitation. life-span 16 d was not influenced while decapitation prolonged the to 28 d. fresh mass cotyledons, an indicator organ viability, decreased in a similar manner all non-decapitated plants, though it relatively slower plants grown under low (LI). Three days after cotyledons increased one third, slight decrease observed on 21st d, lasted until end life span. Deducing from fall chlorophyll (Chl) concentration expressed per unit protein, started 10th day plants. Decapitation postponed day. Expression Chl amount dry did detect any changes LI hence this parameter can be used for assessment senescence. measurements b concentrations indicated that light-harvesting complexes (LHCs) proliferated during ageing rapidly destroyed at Changes carotenoids supported hypothesis free radicals involvement bean responded radical production induced higher β-carotene synthesis. Oxidative damage galactolipids documented fluorescence measurements. composition correlated morphologic electron microscopy.
