摘要: We investigate probabilistic shaping (PS) and geometric shaping (GS) for next-generation flexible passive optical network (PON) systems. Our proposed scheme introduces flexible data rate tuning with up to 1.1-dB sensitivity improvement, while GS can effectively mitigate the penalty brought by combination with forward error correction (FEC).
