摘要: Nitrite has long been known to be vasoactive when present at large concentrations but it was thought inactive under physiological conditions. Surprisingly, we have recently shown that supraphysiological and near of nitrite cause vasodilation in the human circulation. These effects appeared result from reduction by deoxygenated hemoglobin. Thus, proposed play a role hypoxic vasodilation. We now discuss these results context reacting with hemoglobin effecting new data modeling nitric oxide (NO) export red blood cell measurements soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) activation. conclude NO generated within interior is not likely effectively exported directly as oxide. an intermediate species must formed nitrite/deoxyhemoglobin reaction escapes
