Turbulence-induced millimeter-wave scintillation compared with micrometeorological measurements

摘要: Scintillations of intensity and phase difference were measured at millimeter wavelengths in a horizontally homogeneous atmospheric surface layer. Simultaneous micrometeorological optical propagation measurements characterized the clear-air turbulence. Predicted statistics are good agreement. It is shown that structure function showed rolloff large spacings as was expected because outer scale turbulence log-intensity Gaussian random variables. The mutual coherence exp(-D/2) to great accuracy, where D sum log-amplitude functions. Estimating heat humidity fluxes from variances be valid. >
