摘要: Cyclic AMP (cAMP) is found in a variety of prokaryotes including both eubacteria and archaebacteria. cAMP plays role regulating gene expression, not only for the classic inducible catabolic operons, but also other categories. In enteric coliforms, effects on expression are mediated through its interaction with allosteric modification cAMP-binding protein (CRP). The CRP-cAMP complex subsequently binds specific DNA sequences either activates or inhibits transcription depending upon positioning relative to promoter. Enteric coliforms have provided model explore mechanisms involved controlling adenylate cyclase activity, synthesis, performing detailed examinations complex-regulated expression. This review summarizes recent work focused elucidating molecular complex-mediated processes. For bacteria, less detail known. has been implicated antibiotic production, phototrophic growth, pathogenesis. A suggested nitrogen fixation. Often data that support involvement these processes includes measurement, detection enzymes metabolism, observed high concentrations nucleotide cell growth.
