摘要: The application of carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) in bridge construction was before 1991 unknown. Therefore the owners did not want to rely only on laboratory experiments made 1980ties. They asked for structural health monitoring. This also interest involved R&D community. used devices range from “old fashioned” demec gauges off-line measurements classical foil resistance strain gauges, self-sensing systems unidirectional CFRP wires, and sophisticated integrated optical sensors with Bragg gratings. In most important applications different independent were parallel. Twenty years are which exposed outdoor weathering a fairly demanding time span. surprisingly high reliability these is largely appreciated result. Applications post-tensioned concrete bridges, stay cables, pretensioned powerline pylons will be discussed.
