摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter considers the cerebral cortical areas responsible for low-threshold touch perception in primates. It emphasizes on cognitive factors tactile perception, discusses receptive field organization cortex, and highlights issues that may benefit from future study. On basis of anatomical physiological criteria, approximately ten parietal involve somatosensory processing. These display separable cytoarchitecture form a connected network because they share thalamic connections. All respond some way to cutaneous or deep receptor stimulation most contain somatotopically-organized maps. The perspective primarily focuses isolated elements perceptions well-controlled stimuli.
