摘要: Abstract In conventional continuous bioreactor operations, it is a common practice to decouple the hydraulic retention time (HRT) from solid (SRT). When dealing with photosynthetic microorganisms, light intensity plays major role in growth kinetics; thus, effect of HRT and SRT on biomass productivity may differ that chemotrophic bioreactors. this study, we assessed uncoupled photobioreactors (PBRs) based simple mass balances, transfer, kinetic models highlight specific features PBRs. Under non-limiting nutrient supply, fundamental variable used maximize control concentration penetration PBR. Operating at SRT > HRT does not enhance productivity. If goal production, instead convenient operate
