摘要: Electrical status epilepticus during sleep (ESES) is primarily an EEG-defined syndrome in children characterized by the occurrence of continuous spike and slow waves non-rapid-eye-movement (non-REM) sleep, paroxysmal abnormalities being substantially less frequent awake state REM sleep. Etiologically, cases can be divided into symptomatic cryptogenic varieties. Partial motor seizures, frequently nocturnal, precede emergence ESES, whereas absence seizures often occur phase ESES. The ESES associated with neuropsychological regression. characteristic electrographic pattern epilepsy generally disappear adolescence are improvement function. However, if reported literature representative, then there a high probability considerable residual dysfunction. A number factors, broadly termed ascertainment biases, likely contribute to paucity reports from North America greater recognition Europe Japan. current information on critiqued this review.
