摘要: We show that the viscoelastic properties of polycrystalline ferroelectric ceramics can be significantly altered over a wide range mechanical frequencies when domain switching is controlled by cyclic electric fields. The dynamic stiffness lead zirconate titanate shown to vary more than 30%, while damping increases an order magnitude. Experimental results are interpreted aid continuum-mechanics model captures nonlinear electro-mechanically coupled material response for full hysteresis.
